Not everyone who wandered is lucky enough to find their way back home. Thankfully, this dog’s story turned out quite the opposite.

It was the busiest time of the year; everyone else was either shopping or vacationing for the holidays, so is this couple Kailaan Walker and Lydia Selin. They imagined a perfect Christmas getaway, and there’s no better way of spending it with family than tagging along with their two dogs with them.

It was one fateful day when the couple was walking their dogs in Saint Joseph Island, in Canada when horror hit them. Logan, one of their pet dogs, ran away into the frigid mountains. The fear of not knowing the place was more than enough to keep the couple overly anxious and worried about what might happen to Logan. They went on a search for days, setting up trail cameras in the hopes that they may catch him, but all efforts led to haste. The couple feeling defeated was left with no choice but decide to go back home in Ontario.

One phone call was all it took for the couple to get their surprise of a lifetime. A member of the US Coast Guard has found Logan, as he is now all set for his most awaited reunion with his favorite couple.

Logan turned out to have reached the icy waters and managed to cross the border, where he was found by some of the crew aboard the USCG Mackinaw. The team did everything they could to coax Logan, who sure was feeling terrified at that time. After numerous efforts, he finally obliged and was taken in by the crew. He was even given treatment for his frostbite from being in the cold for far too long.

Kailaan and Lydia could not contain their delight upon hearing the news and immediately drove to see Logan once again. They sure did not waste a single second to tell the crew how much they are grateful and appreciative of their gesture.

It’s been days later, but still, it was a Merry Christmas, after all.
